Clarification on the annual pass

Hey so I just got into Destiny this semester when Forsaken launched and I bought the $60 bundle for the hame, annual pass, and Forsaken. I thought I was good for the new Black Armory it I just got an email from Blizzard saying I need to “decrypt my pass” and it leads to buying the annual pass for $35. Does the annual pass reset at the start of the new season? Or is it another date where I’ll need to purchase the annual pass again?
