Help, I've Fallen Into a Hole of Self-Doubt and Can't Get Out
Hi everyone! I'm going to apologize first as this may be a long winded post and I'm hoping I can make it as coherent as possible.
I recently finished my second Bachelor's degree in IT which gave me some experience in C and Java. I have also dabbled in other languages and taught myself some Python, C# and JavaScript. I've probably messed with Python the most though.
But I have a problem when it comes to my programming abilities. When I'm trying to think of projects to do, I try to think of challenging ones that will push me to learn more but all I end up doing is asking questions constantly about how to do X or what Y method from the language is doing or how to implement Z feature. And when I do try to understand on my own or get an explanation from some nice people in a programming Discord, I feel I end up more confused or still don't know how to use the topic being discussed.
The result is a spiral where I am excited to make some new thing and that will help me learn more but I end up getting so much help it's really not my project anymore so much as the people who helped me and I begin to doubt my abilities again.
Really this is a long way of saying I need help gaining confidence in my abilities (because I never really had any to start) and becoming a better programmer. I don't even want to do it as a career but a hobby to program now and then.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
