Pulls belt out

Leatherman wave in a leather belt case. When I undo my belt to say, take a dump, which I may or may not be doing right now. The weight of the tool pulls my belt out of the loops. Anyone have a solution? I was thinking about hacking on a metal clip to keep it attached to the waist of my pants?
