I'm drunk, I'm knitting, and I have something exciting to share!
Please excuse any spelling/grammar errors/ramblings. Like I said, I'm drunk.
I'm 23 years old and I've been knitting for a few years. Knitting is my passion and I'm currently working toward my Master Hand Knitter Certification. However, I have never gotten much respect when going in yarn shops. I've always gotten treated like I was a beginner or like I accidentally walked into the wrong store.
But I found a yarn shop that treats me as an equal and I'm so excited. The owner (shout out to Cheers to Ewe!) has made me feel so welcome. She recently completed the Master Knitter program and has been offering me first hand advice.
But the AMAZING thing that happened was that the other day at the weekly sit and stitch that I've been attending, I was turning the heel of a sock for my boyfriend. I guess I was focusing extra hard but as I was leaving, an older lady that had been shopping around stopped me and said I was one of the fastest knitters she'd ever seen! I was flabbergasted. She went on to say how she felt a little creepy just watching me work and was so impressed but honestly I didn't even notice since I was so focused.
It just felt great to get recognized for my talent from a person that's so experienced. Thanks for reading. Knit responsibly!
