How do I sing more comfortably in the 4th octave? + What type of male singer am i?
Hi,
So lets get straight into it. I enjoy trying to sing to my favourite artists and bands such as Panic! At the Disco and Muse. I haven't had any vocal training but I enjoy singing whilst I play guitar. I understand that both Brendon Urie and Matt Bellamy are tenors with high vocal ranges.
So I can sing easiest and most comfortably in the 3rd octave. The lowest note I can hit on an average day is about an A2 and in chest if I really go for it I can get to around an F4, but still it is sort of fluttery not like vibrato but sort of unstable. In what I call my head voice which is quite strong, I can cover the entire 4th octave up to comfortably an E5 but I can go higher when I warm up properly such as the F#5 in Plug in Baby.
The thing is it sounds like I really struggle in the 4th octave when singing in Chest and it sounds 'pulled up', and it feels like I’m trying to force it out.
