Insulation Question: Difference in R and moisture values for taping vs adhesive for insulation

I'm wondering if there's any issue with taping foamular insulation vs the recommended adhesive spray. I don't intend to have a moisture layer and just let the moisture come and go with proper insulation. TL;DR: is taping insulation less effective than gluing, or will it trap moisture worse?
