What is the point of naming our character

Is there a way you can actually see the name? I was hoping to see people’s cool cowboy names but it’s just usernames.

It’s cool that you can see horses names at least but that’s all there is.

Also does anyone know what the letters in ( ) at the end of gamertags mean, are they clans or something?
