Traceroute command not working on packet tracer...why is this happening???

Traceroute works fine if it’s a destination that the device can get to

But if it’s a destination that the router can not get to, then it just displays a line of “*****”

And Im stuck on that screen and can’t get it off the screen or do anything else until a few minutes later when it finally stops

This goes for the “tracert” command on the PCs as well

Does anyone have a solution to the problem??
