What is wrong with the robins in this game?!

I'm legitimately pissed.

It takes forever to find one, and the absolute second you spot them they fly off. It doesn't matter if you're near or far, just looking at them makes them fly off. And if you deadeye them, even with a varmint rifle, you can unload like four rounds into them and they still fly away unscathed. And you need so many robin feathers to make the crafted items, then I just found out about a quest where you need a perfect one?

What kind of Hell is this?
