Is my local hardwood installer being straight with me?

Edit: I also asked if they are including underlayment for the price of installation. I was told that since it’s hardwood on plywood subfloor it’s not necessary. This is the second red flag.

Looking to install prefinished hardwood in an upstairs living area. I asked how long before installation they would deliver. He gave a confused look and when I explained about my research on acclimation, he said that’s not necessary for 360 sqft, and showed me the wood in their storage area right by a heater.

Also, I am having trouble researching manufacturers. All I’ve really found is dissatisfaction with manufacturer warrantees in general.

In order of increasing price:

• somerset
• Maine traditions
• Appalachian

Canadian was out of our price range. But another place offers Mont-royal, I just wasn’t able to find much about it.
