Linux as desktop?

Im really curious, who out there uses linux as their main desktop and what distro?

I'm on the fence of having a stable host OS and virtualizing windows and more linux for security and reliability. Whenever you do dev work on something, you gotta do hella reboots. I wanna circumvent that.
