Planning out a trip with friends. Could use some advice

I am new to the west coast and live in southern California now. Got to ski Mammoth for three days during the middle of the week in January last season and it was awesome...good snow and no lift lines. Some buddies from the east coast want to come out for President's Day weekend in February for a 3 day ski trip. I know it will be crowded but how long do you think I'll be waiting to catch a lift that weekend? Is it even worth going that weekend?
