A bothersome and paranoid question about sound not working in Chrome on a new MacBook Air
So upon unboxing and setting up my new 2018 MacBook Air, the first thing I did was play some random audio file I didn’t recognize. It played fine. Wow! Stereo speakers!
The second was to download Chrome. For whatever reason I quit and restarted Chrome several times while mucking about. Then I shut the computer and went for a walk. After unlocking it on my return, I attempted to watch Netflix. No audio. I attempted to watch YouTube. No audio.
Rather than try to play audio in another browser, I just restarted the system for the first time. Upon rebooting, everything seems to work fine.
The paranoid question - is this some common bug in Chrome, or is this indicative of a potential issue with the machine? I am a poor person, and just dropped a fortune (for me) on this computer. Since audio initially played in iTunes, I’m hoping it’s just Chrome.
Thank you for humoring me 😬
