Why I think that Henrik should be so hard on valve
After looking at what happened and watching Bulldog´s video, I agree with most of what Henrik says concerning racial slurs and that kind of behavior, I don't think that Henrik is racial at all, that is a very strong accusation, and if you have seen real racism, you know that accusing someone like Henrik of racism is just ridiculous, however, I completely disagree with him if we go to his opinions on Valve´s actions, and here are my reasons.
1- Bulldog accuses them of greed: I think that we all can agree that Valve is different to other companies when it comes to profit, they look at their "audience" as assets instead of money printers, like the majority of companies do, however, as someone who has worked in the financial decisions of a NON PROFIT organization, it is safe for me to say that there is not a single there is no company in the world that does not have as main objective to make money (not necessarily profit), because if there is no money, there is no company,. Now, there are a number of companies ( valve included) who put as much value to their customers as the profit, which is pretty good and rare, believe me. That being said, Henrik has no experience whatsoever when it comes to making the financial decisions of a company and has no idea of how much damage can one bad idea do the finance, especially when it comes to a major event of a company, like a major dota 2 tournament. Let's say that Valve doesn't ban anyone, and the Chinese decide that they won't have the major, just think of how many cash valve will lose, valve counts with that money. At the beginning of the year every company makes predictions on how much money they will make, NOT ONLY PROFIT, but money to pay employees, to invest in infrastructure and so on. My point is that there is so much more to the decision of banning kuku that just a loss of profit, I agree that Valve should have rules, but Henrik was just too harsh to valve, and I think that he needed to step on their shoes before making such a strong statement. I would go on explaining more of the financial decisions, but I think that I made myself clear.
2- You are only human, right?: Here I want to point out that Henrik said that he is a human and makes mistakes, and he is sorry for some of them and whatever, which is completely OK, I don't disagree on that. BUT, he completely contradicts himself, because let's say that Valve´s decision of banning Kuku was wrong, and was a huge mistake (I don't think it is btw), in the end, is just that, a mistake and Henrik is telling Gaben and Valve to go fuck themselves, and that he hates them now, just for one mistake, sounds a little contradictory doesn´t it?. 2,2: Valve has literally give you everything you´ve got: Now don´t get me wrong, I´m not saying that Bulldog hasn't worked hard for what he's got, that's not the same bloody claim, but they certainly helped and gave him the opportunities, I'm sure he is proud of his career, and he should be. But God knows what he would be doing if it wasn't for valve and Dota 2, I´ve watched some interviews where Henrik says that if he wasn't playing Dota 2 professionally (at the time of course) he would like to work at anything related to video games, and this is to you, Henrik, how would you feel if you worked in something that you dislike for the rest of your life? it would suck, and you would be working in something that you dislike if it wasn't for the opportunities that Valve gave you, you would not have an audience for your stream if it wasn't for your dota 2 career my friend, and to completely "banning" valve for your life, and telling them to go fuck themselves just because of a decision that you don't really know the causes for, to a company that has brought so much happiness and joy to you and to this community is unfair. I hope that you give this situation a second thought.
