What is something you done to generate a good amount of traffic? Share your story.

I'm interested if there is a common thread in what the GrowthHacking community has done in driving traffic to content or landing pages. Did you drive a couple hundred or thousand visitors to your product? Did people come from a Reddit post, interview, YouTube, or Facebook Ad share what has worked for you. Most recently I launched a targeted Facebook Ad using video. Spent $20 and generated 10 sales of gymnastic journals for a friend's website. This video racked up 500 views and drove 70 new users to the site. I'll say that's $20 well spend lol.
