Moscow Airport - Separate ticket layover without a visa?

Question for anyone who is familiar with SVO airport in Moscow. I'm looking at flying from Baku Azerbaijan to Tokyo via Moscow airport.

Since these are two different airlines (AZAL and Aeroflot) they have separate tickets. I won't have a tourist visa for Russia, so I'm wondering if that will be a problem if I need to go get my checked bag?
