Help With Combing Text Files

I am looking for a way to combine text files. Every method I have found is NOT what I am looking for.

What I want is the text from each document to be sandwiched on top of each other. For example,

Hello world. This sentence is in English. – from text document 1

Hello world. This sentence would be in another language. – from text document 2

I want the merging action to alternate like this, for every line in the document. I REALLY hope someone can help me with this. I would like to try each and every method available, and see which one I like the most. Thanks to ANYONE that can help me with this.
