I fucking hate when people use OCD as an adjective
I suffer from clinically diagnosed OCD and it frustrates me when people use OCD as a adjective.
Like 'omg I'm so OCD! look at how organized my desk is"
yet when I try to explain OCD, people think I'm being PC and a snowflake. I'm not, imagine another condition being trivialized like this. I fucking almost lost my life to OCD and OCD consumed every second of my day in the past. Imagine being 19 years old, unable to function and spending all your time in your room ritualizing. Imagine having to take a medical leave from college because your OCD told you that you were contaminated. Imagine it being 1 AM and knowing it was so ridiculous, but you were wandering around campus looking for a place to wash your hands because you felt contaminated.
I mean people literally lose years of their life suffering from OCD and people are constantly undiagnosed because of how OCD became a quirky adjective.
OCD is real. OCD is a fucking real condition and it needs to stop being triavlized.
