I don't understand the hate lobbied against Atkins' Physical Chemistry textbook

I'm studying chemical engineering, about to enter grad school, and the graduate-level Thermodynamics texts are challenging to say the least.

So I bought Atkins Physical Chemistry as a supporting text, since it's designed for an undergrad audience, to aid in my understanding of the fundamentals.

I find the book to be extremely clear and elegant. The justifications are well-placed, there's a generous use of figures and visuals, and it's overall a solid textbook.

So why do people rag on it so much in this sub? Is it because people just hate their experience with P-Chem in general?
