At the beginning of this game you have 3000 Pokédollars, the cost of a potion is 300 Pokédollars, assuming the cost of a potion is about the same as an average 20 oz soda (~600 ml) which is $1.50 US and after doing some basic math one can find that the mother of your character lets you go off into the world as a 10 year old with the equivalence of only 15 US dollars
