[PS4] Penalized for leaving a Glitched Gambit Match?

So just to clarify, I ended up joining a Gambit match that was in progress. It was in the Dreaming City, but there was an issue. The entire match was bugged. No enemies spawning, just the Drifter yelling that enemies were coming from every direction, and the beacons just turning on and off. After giving it 2 minutes, the match still continued to bug out while other teammates just ran around emoting, I left and was told I was penalized.

It would be my first actual leaving during a Gambit match, so I'm just wondering if I'm being hit with a penalty for something that wasn't my fault; namely, the bugged Gambit match. Should I have just idled longer? Or what?
