Was thinking about a Md1200, MD1000 or maybe sa120. Need help understanding options or what il not thibking about.

I am setting up my homelab and have decided that I want a DAS like a MD1200, MD1000 or SA120. However I've heard all three are awfully loud. I plan on using it with FreeNas (and Plex) for all of my media. So they will be running a lot and may possibly need to feed more than one device at a time.

(I have 2 R610s, and am looking to purchase a R710, along with a Cisco switch and pfsense connecting everything. )

What are my DAS options? I would like to have as many 3.5" drives as possible for at least 48tb of storage .

Neither of the options above are terribly expensive but I'm somewhat worried about noise and even power consumption (which depends on other variables probably).

I still have a g5 and while it is loud I don't mind it much...
