New Plex Server

Help

My last server crashed and burned when the HDD holding all my media (2TB) crashed and was irreparable. It has been a hard couple days coming to terms with the fact that I will have to rip ALL my media (dvd/bluray) over again, a process that has been ongoing for about six months.

I've learned my lesson, I now wish to do this the correct way and use a NAS with a backup solution. I'm really not sure where to look as far as specs go. Most of my streaming happens across the LAN, but sometimes we like to stream remotely.

Should I backup with another program? or should I use a NAS with at least four drive bays and just use RAID 6? What do you ladies and gentleman do for your setups?

Rack space and power are not an issue, although money will have to be delegatedl first and I'll have to plan it out. But eventually I really want to do this correctly and redundantly as possible, so as to not lose anything in the future.
