Let’s (try to) put this to rest—do Silver Eyes hurt/affect Maidens, or just Grimm?
The short answer of this question (in a TL;DR) will be at the end of this post.
Given what we know about Silver Eyes—that is, very little—the things that the eyes affect has been a bit of a contentious topic. We see it hurt Cinder and freeze the Grimm dragon (who I’ve heard is named Kevin, which is quite amusing) in Volume 3, which would lead to the suspicion that the Silver Eyes hurt both Maidens and Grimm. However, in Volume 5, Ruby’s short flare of Silver Eyes only hurt Cinder, leaving Raven completely unharmed. This would lead to the suspicion that the Eyes only hurt Grimm, since Cinder had a Grimm arm. However, if this were the case, the only thing that should have been damaged was Cinder’s arm, and yet it seemed that her entire body took a bit of a blow.
In Volume 6, Chapter 6 (which I still have not watched but I have received details on it), it rather handily deals with the Apathy, therein cementing the fact that the Eyes can eliminate Grimm. We know this, and it is no longer in debate. However, that still leaves the question of the Maidens. Do we know anything that can confirm or deny the Silver Eyes’ potency/impotency against the Maidens?
TL;DR: Do we know anything that can prove if Silver Eyes can or cannot affect Maidens?
