Practice makes perfect
So in this case, I was involved with the choosy begging situation but not the target. At my college, I frequently chat with the bistro ladies in between classes because I love coffee and will usually try to buy one or two every week. (Depends on my money situation) So one day, as I was chatting with main bistro lady after buying a cup of grapes, the newbie bistro lady was practicing making Mochas correctly and offered the one she'd just made to me. I happily accepted and thanked them a lot! As I was accepting it, a man behind me who hadn't even ordered anything cleared his throat and requested a free drink too. Well... I say requested... it was more of a "I'll take one too." As he reaches over the glass divider waiting for her to give him one. These bistro ladies aren't pushovers and just tilted their heads back and laughed. The man pulled back and scoffed before glaring at me and my drink and walking away. Bistro ladies and I shared a chuckle and I went off to my class.
It was a quick but comical situation, the man wasn't a teacher or anything, just a cranky old man who was getting classes for free and figured he'd get coffee for free too. (Sorry for the format, phones are weird)
