Good place to buy a first guitar?

Hey there, I'm looking to learn guitar but I'm having a hard time finding a place, I've been to guitar center and nothing really jumped out at me. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to buy a good beginner guitar in the area?

Edit: Should have said before, but I'm looking for an acoustic guitar to play folksy stuff on
