CB, lost a friendship

This is my husband's friend. He had a colon issue due to his obesity. His coworkers (and my husband) pooled their money together to give him a donation since he said he had to buy expensive food for his weight loss plan and he was broke, and could anyone help?. Just working class folk giving him their hard earned cash which ended up being 200 bucks. 4 days later he posts facebook pictures of him going to Vegas, staying at a nice hotel and eating the trashy buffet food. My husband called him on it and he had zero remorse. Husband stopped talking to him and dude lost his job there soon after.
