Daycare wants to have a meeting about my DS

Over the last 3 days, my son has had 5 incident reports at daycare where he’s used a car to either hit a friend or throw it at their head. My son is almost 2 1/2 and is the only child. If he hits or throws at home he either gets a time out (for 2 minutes) or gets the toy taken away for a few days.

I went back through and looked in October he has 5 incidents total and for November 7 incidents. (Similar throwing or hitting a friend) I am unsure of before October but can check in my email, I think.

Normally we take something away. We told him last night if he hit a friend today he would lose of his hot wheel cars for the next two days.

Now the daycare staff want to meet with me and my husband to create a plan to help him? Are there some questions I should be asking the staff that I haven’t thought about? Is this just normal behavior? I feel like I’m failing as a mom. Like for real.
