How do you actually build a relationship?

This isn't even a joke. I've had several long term relationships, I've had flings and dates. But then I spent some time being single. To actually work on and understand myself. Build a career (that I actually like) And I feel a lot more emotionally healthy. But now, I'm seeing a woman, and she's great but I don't know how to evolve what we have. It's like I've forgotten everything I used to know.

Like, whenever we're together, conversation flows and I think we're both naturally very supportive of each other. But then she goes back home. And it's awkward over text messages. Like, what do normal people talk about? I should explain that I am notorious among my friends for not using my phone. And conversation with me is usually very short and straight to the point. So I think in my personal time, I forgot how to connect with other people.

How do I actually let her in to the workings of my mind while probing hers.

Our relationship can't just be going for drinks on Friday and hanging out at my place for the weekend.
