An interesting view on skill expression and champion design, please read all

I believe akali is a less skill expressive champion than diana. Heres why:Akali has a specific skill for everything she wants to do. Enage, disengage, cover distance, escape, trade, 1v1, execute and so on. There is nothing you would realistically want to do as akali that cant be accomplished by activation of 1 or more of her abilites. There is no area in which skill can be expressed outside of using her abilities, which is a very limited arena for expressing skill.

Diana on the other hand, has simple, straight forward abilities. Positioning, movement, mind games and timing are her bread and butter when she wants to accomplish something ingame. This skill arena is much less limited and allows for much more expression of skill.

It's the difference between playing a song on the piano and actually writing the song. One is limited and is only skill expressive up until a certain point(in the case of akali and league in general, its rather low), and the other realistically doesnt have any boundries for how one can express skill.

Additionally, Champions with vastly different abilites than the majority of league are fundamentally unfair as their mains usually have 200 game with that unique ability while opponents only have a few. Making for a huge difference in experience where there should be none. Akali, zoe, xayah and a bunch more.

What are your thoughts on this? League has become anti-fun, anti-skill, anti-gameplay. Your ideal playstyle is to sit under tower and wait for ganks.

I just dont understand the thought behind champion design as of the last few years. Seems like its more of a competition within to try and create the most unique and crazy champions and to show off their skill as designers. Seems like theres no real understanding of how a game should work.

Skill expressive doesnt mean ''requires skill'', its means a players ability to express skill with a champion. A champ can require no skill at all to play and still be very skill expressive.
