A potato about where Jinn's first question went

SpoilerDISCUSSION

So everybody here knows how Jinn is basically a third-rate genie that gives you knowledge instead of wishes. Great. But when we first encounter her, she only has two wishes.

Why? I guess we could assume that Ozpin used it, but that's boring. I have a better idea.

What if Lionheart used the question?

Ozpin keeps telling us that Leonardo used to be really brave and one of Ozpin's most loyal supporters. Change like that usually doesn't happen overnight. Usually.

Team RWBY were in the same boat as Leo: they were staunch supporters of Ozpin until they found out that Salem was "undefeatable." They lost their will to fight, became bitter and angry at Ozpin. Even Qrow turned against Ozpin, and for good reason. Who's to say it didn't happen to Lionheart?

But how did Lionheart get to the relic, you ask. He's not a Maiden (probably).

Ah, but he did have access to her. Ozpin presumably would have kept her in Leonardo's care, and he talks about her in V5C1 in a somewhat familiar way.

I think it's plausible that Leo conscripted the Spring Maiden to open the vault so they could ask the Relic how to defeat Salem, probably as a gift to Ozpin or whatever.

They ask Jinn how to defeat Salem. She tells them they can't. Panic ensues.

Leo loses his will to fight against Salem, and he even joins her side out of self-preservation. Salem tells Watts to speak to "their informant in Mistral" in V4C1. His betrayal clearly wasn't recent.

As for the Spring Maiden, she is definitely against being used as a Macguffin's guardian in an unwinnable war. She tries to escape, so she runs away to someone who she knows shares her sentiment: Raven. This doesn't end well for her, clearly.

All in all, I doubt it's true, but I think this is much more interesting than Ozpin just using it for whatever in the past.

tl;dr: Jinn only has two questions because Leo and the Spring Maiden used the first one to ask it how to defeat Salem or something similar. The answer led to Lionheart's defection and the Spring Maiden's running away.
