Should I quit my fast food job? I’m a college student.

Hi, this is my first post so pardon any formatting errors as I am on mobile.

Alright so I’ve been working at a sandwich shop for about 5 months now. Everything is good, although the pay is minimum wage here in California. When I was hired, my boss was immediately condescending and sarcastic to me, but not just only me. He often makes you feel like you’re stupid. I’m a full-time university student and I need the money to pay my car and phone. The thing is I have tutoring job lined up for January that lasts until May. It pays about twice as much as my current job.

Well today, I offered to cover a shift for someone who was sick saying that I could come in earlier. My boss said it was fine and then later asked me why I didn’t tell him I worked the night shift. He said he doesn’t know when people work all the time. He makes the schedule so how could he not know? He made me feel like an idiot and he sent me home. I cried and a coworker told me to not stress over it, but I don’t want to be treated like this. I understand it’s a job, but I won’t stand for being yelled at or being made to feel like I’m a huge idiot.

He was also sarcastic to me when I asked for four days off during the holidays. He replied with, “I would like those days off too :)”

My only concern is not having a job in the summer...

Should I quit my job ?

Tl;dr: My boss is a condescending asshole who talks down to his employees and makes them feel incompetent. Pay is horrible and I’m thinking about quitting because of this.
