Theories on the Purpose of Lawsuit against ABC?

Looking forward to what you think is the underlying purpose of the lawsuit

I think that if somebody was heavily invested in Bitcoin Cash with an understanding that the system is based on a consensus protocol, and that consensus is broken on extremely short notice you could say it is fraud.

Or maybe not the technical definition of fraud but the investor or customer is not getting what they were advertised and paid for, and have suffered immense financial harm because the original BCH chain could not continue.

That is absolutely true and now after Dan Connolley revealed a portion of the minutes, there is clear evidence consensus were against the ABC changes and then you have that arrogant jackass, Andreas confessing to the collusion with the exchanges on livestream -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=13&v=UjAHJY0QZhs

Bitcoin Cash was hijacked and investors were gravely harmed.

I don't think there is an 'underlying purpose'. I think it is exactly as it appears. Some people made a risky investment in a volatile space without adequate understanding, then subsequently failed to actively monitor and adjust their risk assessment accordingly. While (some/many/all) of the actions the defendants are alleged to have undertaken may be true, I can't see many of the charges actually specified getting very far.

In that respect i expect that the objective is generate negative sentiment against the "big bad scammers" (my words) and reach a settlement.

As to why Calvin/CoinGeek; et al, are having a field day with it: why the hell shouldn't they. In it's current state crypto is as much about (negative) politics as it is about business, technology and ideology.

My guess is just to make them lose money faster.

Dunno, ask the lawyers. The current narrative seems to be blaming BSV for it. I don't see any direct connection myself.
