what is that horn sound?

It's been happening since last night. Constant train horn sound that just echoes through the hills, it sounds like a ghost train. Is there some sort of old timey train in town for something?

I think you're hearing this: the holiday express

It sort of sounds like a whining ghost train and runs every holiday season.

Thanks for posting this question, I was wondering too. It's actually been nice with the rain. I was pretending it was ships going by hooting through the fog. But that train horn (not the regular train that wakes me up at 2 am) is nice.

I love the sound of the Holiday Train, its not winter without the haunting sound of the train in the night!

It's this incredibly annoying boat-ship that goes around the Willamette River around Christmas time. The horn blows about every 15 minutes (OMG it's doing it right now!!) and it's horribly annoying for the entire month until January.

I guess I live too close to the river.

Edit: I swear to God it's every 5 minutes because it just did it AGAIN!
