Xbox One S Performance Question

First I apologize if this is the wrong area to ask this; I had Googled this question and I didn't really get any satisfactory answers, so I'm coming here.

Long story short, I miss Halo. I played the original trilogy pretty much every day years ago, and I want to play it through again and get ready for Infinite.

Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of extra cash right now. I'm thinking about picking up an Xbox One S but I was wondering if performance for the MCC and Guardians is up to snuff, or if I should just hold out and get an X.

Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Every Xbox One Halo game runs at 60fps on all Xbox One consoles. The difference is original Xbox One and Xbox One S run the games at around 1080p, whereas Xbox One X runs them at around 4K. The result is original/S produce a much blurrier image.

Hm.

I have a 55" 4K Samsung, and that sounds like it may be little unsatisfactory, as petty as that might seem.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. Think I may hold out for an X. Typing it out also makes me realize it may be for the best because who knows how Infinite will run. Might be best to have the best console available for it.

If you're tight on cash, I highly recommend buying used on something like eBay. You'll probably be able to find a good quality Xbox One X for around $350. Maybe even less if you find a good deal.

$350 isn’t bad at all, I’ll take a look and see what I can find, thanks!

The quality is definitely worth it for the X, and its on sale in some locations. H5 has some blurriness on the S from what I noticed.

H5 has a perfect lock at 60fps on the S. But it is blurry due to low resolution, yes.
