[PC][Question] Quick question about VR levels.

PC/Mac

I just booted my account back up after several years. When I last played i had to grind for daaaaays and daaaaaaays to hit VR12. Then I was so turned off that I just stopped playing when I finally hit it. Now I'm back and all of my VR levels are gone. I'm just regular level 50 again. I'm assuming they got rid of VR levels, so was all that just a waste of time now?

Your ranks will be converted into champion points. Those are how you level up now.

Thanks!

You should have 120cp now. That is what you get from vr12.

Ouch. Was endgame that short back then or was it just a really rough conversion?

Both. I had VR15 back in 2014, returned this year and got CP150.

Vr 16 was the cap back then. It converted to cp160 which remains the gear cap and general content level. CP beyond that are to further boost your power to handle the harder content without having higher gear levels.

When the championsystem was introduced, we got a maximum of 70 CPs for having a maxlevel VR14 on our accounts.

You got 5 CP for every VR per character until the mentioned 70 CPs

The conversion VR1 = CP10 till VR16 = CP160 applies for gearlevels, when VR where removed.

When they converted to CP you were converted at VR * 10 so you could wear the same rank of equipment (equipment was also converted at VR * 10). There was some other conversion # going around but ultimately, my VR16 character had 160CP when the conversion happened and was able to use CP160 gear right away.

Thanks! This CP looks like its going to confuse the hell out my but I guess I'll have to get used to it.

You get champion points now instead, and the good news is that you only have to level them up once and you can spend them on all your characters. They level much faster than VR levels also.

Current CP cap is 810, so ... happy leveling!

Thank you!

The good thing, from a grinding standpoint, is that the gear cap has stayed at 160 ever since they launched champion points. So even though the cp cap is 800-something and rises a little every major update, you can start getting endgame gear as soon as you hit 160. So you have only 40cp to go, and that will be really fast.

On the negative side, the amount of effort to get to cp120 isn't comparable to the amount of effort to get to VR12 since they added catch up mechanics.

Well it was a different game back then. And people that played after conversion could reach max CP way faster then max VR at that point. I spammed vDSA back then and thought the VR levels came quite fast.

It's not like you can expect to get 600 CP level for your VR 12 just because you was away for 3 years.

I'm still trying to figure out how long "enlightenment" lasts because while I admit I don't play every day, I've never run out of accelerated champion point gains.

You get something like 400k per day iirc and it saves up to 12 days of total enlightenment. So max enlightenment you can have is 4.8 million, which is also the amount you'll have when you reach level 50 the first time around.

Enlightenment is a set amount of XP. I don’t remember how much.

It also takes way less XP per CP for 1-100 than for 700-800.

It's 1 level a day and caps out at 11 or something.

Awesome, thank you!

Upvoting you for that unexpected blast from the past - it's been an age since I've heard anyone use the V term. Welcome back!
