All Spoiler - Question of Beidomon and the Bore

Spoiler

I don't know know when this information is revealed so thats why it has All Spoilers, but from the Wiki.

"He and a fellow Aes Sedai, Mierin Eronaile, created the Bore through the Pattern into the Dark One's prison.[1] When the results of the Bore became apparent he tried to be forgotten, however he was well known to the public. Because of what he had done he committed suicide some time before the ending of the Age of Legends."

Where is this revealed that he killed himself later? Is this from the Companion?

Also fun fact from this section, Mierin Eronaile is Lanfear. Lanfear was one of the researchers who opened the bore. I always found that interesting and curious if she knew what she was doing, or if she just was seeking new power unaware of what was inside pandora's box, if you will.

Robert Jordan:

Beidomon was a male Aes Sedai, and a research genius, who believed that they were onto something great. The drilling of the Bore itself caused great damage, and Beidomon, Lanfear and others involved were blamed for that. Once it became clear what had actually happened, the opprobrium increased, and Beidomon sought obscurity, finally committing suicide when he was unable to achieve it. Everyone knew his name, and what he had done. He had nowhere to hide.

As an aside, for those who think that Lanfear was in some way twisted against her will by being involved in drilling the Bore—I have heard the theory advanced—of all those involved in the project, she was the only major figure to go over to the Shadow. She was ripe for the Shadow's plucking long before the Bore was drilled.

Ok great. Probably should get those Q&A questions saved off.

Lanfear's involvement in the drilling of the Bore was maid plain in the Way Back Ter'angreal when Rand saw it through the eyes of his ancestors.

Im aware, but we dont get her POV on it, and she turned to the shadow so it was just a thought.

RJ confirmed it on a Q&A iirc.

Beidomon is only mentioned as being on the project in TSR.

In the BWB (The world of RJ's Wheel of Time), he is mentioned as possibly being her assistant.

RJ first told us he sought obscurity and committed suicide in interviews.

This was further canonized by it's inclusion in the companion/big glossary.

Pretty sure Mierin/Lanfear was just seeking a new power/hoping to earn her "third name" but while she didn't expect exactly what they found, what they found proved to be to her liking because she was generally not a good person even before the bore was opened.

She might not have been as outwardly evil as Semirhage or Balthamel or even Aginor (who all kinda seemed to have "records" before the Bore was opened), but she seems like a pretty textbook narcissist (not that that armchair diagnosis is particularly rare among the Forsaken, even if IMO Lanfear best exemplifies it).
