Watch winder "Rolex" approved or specific?

I was looking for a watch winder for my husband for xmas for both of our Rolex watches. I spoke with someone at a jeweler who informed me that I want to make sure that whatever I purchase is "Rolex approved." She reported only these winders move in two different directions and the cheaper (non-Rolex approved) models only move in one direction. She told me the one directional repetitive motion will create wear and tear that will be detrimental to the inner workings of the watch over time. Any opinions?
