Pokemon Sun and Moon Episode 100 and 101... HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!
HOLY SHIT THESE EPISODES!
It's been a while since Pokemon feats have gotten me this hyped up! I mean... seriously...
Look I'm just going to give you gives a run down of what happened here.
Basically the episode really starts with Ash and Pikachu battling Tapu Koko. I mean that's nothing new for the Sun Moon series, but given Tapu Koko's feats I'm not exactly complaining.
Where things really get interesting is when Pikachu and Tapu Koko have a thunderbolt clash. While I have a hard time making out what happens in this scene, basically the clash opens up a hole between realities that sends Ash and Pikachu to an alternate universe. (My best guess is that the Tapu Koko of each universe are responsible for this effect, but it's not confirmed).
And this is definitely an alternate universe, as Ash and Pikachu visit a ruined Pokemon school.
...wait ruined?
Yeah, as it turns out this version of Melemele island is a post apocalyptic desert wasteland. And if you're wondering what caused this... or more accurately who...
#Guzzlord
Guzzlord is an Ultra Beast, extradimensional creatures that travel to the main Pokemon universe through Ultra Wormholes. They tend to be really powerful in general, but Guzzlord is the strongest we've seen thus far. And really I just need to show you its backstory.
THIS THING DESTROYS EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH, AND ACCORDING TO DIA IT DESTROYED BUILDINGS AND CHIPPED AWAY MOUNTAINS! IT CAN ALSO STRAIGHT UP EAT ATTACKS LIKE PIKACHU'S THUNDERBOLT. IT SINGLEHANDIDLY TURNED AN ISLAND INTO A DESERT WASTELAND AND CAUSED AN ALMOST COMPLETE EVACUATION OF EVERYONE THERE!
Yeah this guy is really fucking strong, and has powerful ranged attacks and poison that dissolves cement.
Now that's all well and good, but you're probably thinking "we don't actually see it destroy buildings, it's probably no impressive as your making it out to be."
To which I say...
NOPE
WE FUCKING SEE IT DESTROY (admittedly highly damaged) BUILDINGS ON SCREEN!!!
But whatever, legendaries and Pokemon like them getting feats like that isn't a new thing. It's rarer in the anime compared to the movies, but it happens.
So let's move on to the next point.
#Zeraora scales to Guzzlord
Zeraora is a mythical Pokemon introduced in Generation 7, and is an electric type. In the anime it's working together with Dia (the last person remaining on Melemele) to try and get rid of Guzzlord.
And that's not a fool's dream.
This thing is able to knock back Guzzlord's claw with close combat and later evenly trade blows with it. It could also stop a leaping Guzzlord in its tracks with quick attack, as well as put it on the defensive and even stagger it with its electrical attack plasma fist.
The one thing that makes a few of these feats slightly questionable is that Dia refers to Guzzlord's second face as its weak point, which is wear Zeraora seems to be aiming for some of them.
But still, this guy is able to fucking hold is own against a casual building busting Ultra Beast.
But again, that's cool but not something that's never happened before.
So why am I getting so worked up?
Well...
#PIKACHU FUCKING SCALES TO GUZZLORD AND ZERAORA
Now we get to the good shit. And before we talk about Pikachu fighting Zeraora there's one feat I want to highlight.
##PIKACHU'S ELECTROWEB MANAGES TO FUCKING RESTRAIN GUZZLORD, HOLY SHIT!!!
When they gave him this move I was excited, but I didn't expect it to be this broken.
But yeah beyond that, Pikachu fights Zeraora repeatedly.
In their first battle they have a quick attack clash that creates a massive column of electricity, and Pikachu then blocks the first strike of Zeraora's first strike of close combat, then take a flurry of blows without being KOd (though a plasma fist after knocks him out).
In the second battle he does a lot better. His thunderbolt manages to match plasma fist, he takes multiple slash attacks (which could cut up electroweb) and a quick attack, and then manages to track Zeraora's quick attack and tag it with a thunderbolt that produces a massive column of electricity.
But that's nothing compared to their third battle.
PIKACHU THEN EVENLY TRADES SEVERAL BLOWS WITH ZERAORA'S CLOSE COMBAT!
And then you also have the times they're working together.
And then Tapu Koko comes and lets them use Z-moves.
A COMBINED GIGAVOLT HAVOC COMPLETELY OVERPOWERS GUZZLORD AND SENDS IT THROUGH THE ULTRA WORMHOLE ONCE AND FOR ALL! (also they play the fucking Ash-Greninja theme during the sequence, so you know it's hype)
#TL:DR
GUZZLORD IS A CASUAL BUILDING BUSTER
ZERAORA IS COMPARABLE IN STRENGTH TO GUZZLORD
PIKACHU IS ABOUT EVEN IN STRENGTH WITH ZERAORA AND CAN RESTRAIN GUZZLORD WITH ELECTROWEB
Also Tapu Koko might be able to open holes in reality, IDK
And I know what you're thinking. "Well aren't these outliers for Pikachu?"
And to that I say...
...
...
Uh...
I'll get back to you on that one.
