Potty Training 6yr old Pom

I am going to attempt to train my 6yr old pomeranian to use our patio over her pee pads. I have closed off the locations she used to use as her "restroom" and installed a doggy door with her pads on the porch. I have treats ready for rewards and plan to have her in her carrier at night until she can be trusted. Any suggesions or advice is appreciated?
