Debate: stamina/summon (wall o' text)
I hope no one has rolled their eyes already. This seems like a contested topic. I'm not here to convince anyone of how i play or how i think they should.
Let's have a discussion or debate or whatever you fancy to call it. As things are now, 30 skystones get you 60 stamina. Story stages require 8 stamina per entry. Altars, hunts, and challenges can require more than 8 stamina. The side story event requires 12 stamina. For 60 stamina, you are looking at anywhere from one handful to around 7 or 8 runs of a stage depending on the content you go into. That's rough. Or is it? Inside side event stages and story stages you may potentially find a chest with 3 skystones. Also, clearing new stages or completing tasks within a stage can get you from 5 to 15 additional skystones. It is possible to make back what you spend and then some (completely excluding daily free skystones as well).
Why should you do this? Why should you not do this?
Well, for one thing, using skystones for stamina can help you level up a unit or units quicker than waiting for more stamina over time.
You can also gain:
· gold
· stigma
· 2 star fodder (which you can also transmit for more gold if that's your thing)
· gear that may be of use to you (or also sell for yet even more gold)
· find chests with gold/skystones/gear/bookmarks
· trigger an urgent mission which can land you super useful items
· catalysts
· and even complete reputation tasks for basically all of the aforementioned items as well as lasting bonuses that add up over.
And that's only considering what can be gained from side events and story stages, not even factoring in what you can earn from other stamina-consuming content. Basically, there are loads of reasons to use SS for stamina.
However, using skystones for summoning... That's where things seem to get a bit contentious. What does that get you? Possibly everything you need and more. Possibly nothing at all except for some pocket lint and an old crumpled up receipt. But what makes this option compelling and arguably reasonable is that everything you stand to gain from summoning are all things you cannot obtain through stamina usage.
Running content won't hand over a shiny new three, four, or five star unit you've been needing/wanting. Maybe you're unfortunate and lacking in a critical piece of your team comp puzzle. Don't have a reliable tank/healer/support/debuffer/buffer/etc. Summoning can alleviate that pesky problem of yours. It can also nab you that one special unit you've been irrationally pining for just because. Summoning is also the only way to gain imprint bonuses that can potentially make a relevant difference. Or you may not even want a unit necessarily. You may even have all the units you want and need but are lacking in the artifact department. Let's face it, artifacts are real game changers. Without enough artifacts or "good" artifacts, all the nat5 units in the world won't really be worth a whole lot.
Now... Does this topic even need debated? Is this really a no-brainer? Why or why not? And would all of this become a non-issue if they would just give us more than 60 damn stamina per refresh cost or have the devs really mathed this out perfectly?
What do YOU think and what do YOU do in your game? Let's discuss this and see if we can make any ground on this issue.
Maybe it really is as straightforward as finding a happy medium. Sometimes stamina, sometimes summon?
(if I have said erroneous information, I will edit as it comes up, sorry in advance)
TLDR: skystones on stamina err naw?
