What is the Most Diverse and Inclusive Team at OWL?
I love the Overwatch League. There's something charming about E-Sports and the way it can bringing likeminded people together, cooperating towards the same goal with dedicated love and passion.
There's been a movement towards a more diverse roster in the tech industry. Diverse engineering teams are simply more fun to work in. There’s the opportunity to learn more from your peers. There’s less fear of speaking your mind. Finally, the empathy that comes with an inclusive mindset leads to fewer interpersonal and inter-team conflicts.
Or, to quote Steve Jobs:
"A lot of people in our industry haven’t had very diverse experiences. So they don’t have enough dots to connect, and they end up with very linear solutions without a broad perspective on the problem. The broader one’s understanding of the human experience, the better design we will have."
I'm wondering if such mindset extends to the professional OWL scene, and whether they have realised its benefits. Considering that Overwatch is an extremely fast paced game with a constantly shifting meta, every player in a team must work effectively with each other in order to triumph over the other team.
So my question is, as of 2018, what is the most diverse team in OWL? And how?
