II and 11th legion were run by Malal? (spoilers)
With the lore recently giving us this tidbit, in reference to Horus trying to name of the lost legion primarchs (II legion) in a dicsussion with Malcador
‘Mal…’ the stricken primarch choked. ‘M-Mal… al…’
The Sigillite’s face twisted into a vengeful rictus. He felt the old, familiar rage beginning to stir, deep in his undying soul.
‘Enough. You will be silent, or I will unmake you, here and now.’
I know many people have considered the possibility of Malal being what became of one of the primarchs, but what if Malal controlled II and 11th, given that 11 is the sacred number of Malal? They seem similar (II and 11 could be seen similarly), and Malal is apprently a parasitic God that gains strength from others. Could Malal have taken over the II legion? Did both legions disappear at the same time? In the event they were both declared excommunicado at separate times, was one there an attempt at redeeming one legion (if they were both controlled by Malal) before deciding to just end both? I'm sure there are inconsistencies with past lore here, but given GWs attitude to lore (it's all canon, except the stuff that isn't), could this explain the fate of the two legions? It's an idea I just can't shake, and was hoping for some input.
