In millions of years time, all the usernames in the world /could/ be used

The title is actually incorrect- All the usernames in the world could be taken in a few years if everyone in the world collectively signed up to the same service and chose different names (probably won’t happen)

Here’s the explanation;

So most websites allow you to create your own user name, and a lot of them have a character limit (for obvious reasons). For the sake of time, let’s assume I’m talking about the Xbox Live system where you’re allowed 15 characters including spaces but no symbols. There are 15 characters which can be filled with any letter from the alphabet AND/OR numbers 0-9 . In any order, BUT the starting character must be a letter.

This ruling has quite a few specifics right?No symbols? Beginning character must be a letter? And quite a few other websites/ services following this rule set too....Now think of ALL the people who play Xbox live- Millions!

There is only a certain number of combinations you can have (I’d be interested in finding out how many combinations you can actually have, with the aforementioned set of rules, if someone is bothered enough to work it out). If everyone in the world set up some banging pc’s and blasted out typing DIFFERENT name, eventually we will hit a limit; What happens next??? O.o .

With that, I’m happy to say that I managed to get the right combination for my gamertag ‘Thugin A Corpse’. And I hope in hundreds of years time people will look back at names from 2018 , where we have a huge choice of any name- but we chose iixPuzzESlay3R x And Xx LAGENDZ xX.

Thank you.
