Master's Baiters Team Review

I've been playing in RD2L for a few years now, and this season has been the furthest I've ever made it. Even though we weren't able to beat Turbo in a very close game 3, I can't stress enough how happy I am with this season and team. I felt pretty good coming out of player draft and got what I wanted regarding players. We had a pretty rough start to the season, but ended off pretty good after finding our playstyle.

1st Pick – Jess

With the rocky start to the season I had doubts about my 1 player, but Jess turned that around and solo carried many of our games. First picking your safelane carry is pretty unheard of in RD2L and usually isn’t the best move. That didn’t matter to Jess, he has some heroes where he could lose the lane significantly but still comeback and have a huge impact on the game. Jess played very well after our initial rocky start and I could not recommend him enough. He was also helpful in draft and played a decent amount of pubs with our legend players.

2nd Pick – Bolt

Bolt was on my pre-draft list and I’m very happy I was able to pick him. He plays a great 4/5 support and is as good as you would expect a divine support main to be. He always had good ward positioning on map, and would make rotations to mid that secured us kills. When my mid-game shot calling was lacking he would step up and push the team is the right direction for our next objective. It’s a bit difficult to make calls for your team while playing mid lane, so I’m happy that Bolt was able to step in and fill that role for me. Initially he was kind of quite in draft, but opened up and helped out more later in the season.

3rd Pick – Poncho

If I remember correctly Poncho was ancient 1 on draft sheet, but he plays much better than that. There were a few games where I would swap lanes with him mid and he would crush divine/immortal players. He played a great offlane throughout the season, whether his hero was more carry or teamfight oriented. He communicated with his offlane support in game was a great team player. I would usually pick him unorthodox lane combos, but he made the best of it in every game.

4th Pick – Pingu (not that Pingu)

What drew me to Pingu for the draft was his ridiculous amount of techies games played, which worked out very well this season for us. Pingu has a bit of an abnormal hero pool, but he excels at a few select heroes that he spams like crazy. He spends a good amount of time while at “work” playing pubs and is always willing to try something new. There is some room for improvement with his hero pool, and some fight or flee decisions. As a legend support he surprised me many times with insanely good blink+calls and techies shenanigans. He is also very talkative in game and in draft and likes to throw ideas out there.

5th Pick – Jinnyboy

My last pick and another legend support player, Jinnyboy impressed me a lot this season. I picked him silencer a lot this season but he did not disappoint. The team almost never had to ask for a global, he would constantly look over the map and use it if needed. He is a very attentive player, and would rotate mid when he saw an opportunity without me asking. He also had good ward placement, and would occasional smoke to get deep wards down without me even realizing. Unfortunately Jinny missed a few weeks this season and I did not get to play with him as much as I’d like. He didn’t talk very much, but would not complain when I picked him silencer a bunch of games in a row.
