Some tech questions

Metronet is being installed in my area, but so far they can’t give me a date for my address.

But, I am thinking about what I will need when they are ready.

I currently have Comcast with two HDHRPrime boxes with cable cards. Those run MoCa to an ATV4 in our family room and wireless to an ATV4 in our bedroom. We use the Channels app on the ATVs and Channels DVR for recording.

In looking at the Metronet web site (which is lacking) I see a DVR with 100 hours of storage. Is that expandable? Also, is the DVR wired? If so, I assume Ethernet.

Is there any way to continue using the HDHR Primes and ATVs?

From reading here it sounds like they will either put the ONT on the outside if the house and run Cat5 (not cat6?) to my router location, or, they will run fiber to the router locations and put the ONT there. Is there a choice or is it dictated by whatever agreement they have with our town?

Anyone ion the western ‘burbs of Chicago have Metronet yet?
