Surface buying advice

Hi, I need an advice. I'm planning to buy a Surface device. Now I own a MacBook 2015 13" base model, and it's starting to lose it. I'm a Computer Science student and I need a paper+pen replacement that can be also a fully functional pc. I started to look at the Surface Go as a companion of my MacBook, and it cost around 500 euros here (8/128). Then I see a sale in a local shop for the Surface Pro 2017 (i5/8/128) at 699 euros. It's worth the 200 euros gap? It's the surface pro 2017 a good choice at 699?

P.S. Surface Pro 6 isn't available in my country.
