FT-17 and the Battle of France 1940

I have seen it stated in numerous places that the FT-17 light tank equipped something like 6 battalions and several independent companies during the Battle of France but I can't seem to find any information on what specific units these formations were attached to.

Does anyone know anything more about the history of these machines during the 1940 campaign? I know a significant number fell into German hands after the surrender but I am more interested in their use by France.

I have read that all French FT-17s in service had replaced their cannons with machine guns, if anyone could confirm this I would be very grateful.
