Is it just me or did anyone else low key find Mr. Dawes and Reverend Travis to be creepy?

Idk, something just gave me a weird vibe about Dawes even though he was a really nice guy. I know it's probably something unintentional that just naturally came when the actor was doing the character. Regardless though, I was never 100% comfortable when he was on screen. As for Travis, he was a bit of an ass and I think his weirdness just has something to do with his clothing attire and strict religious attitude.
