The female empowerment movement has basically become a contest to see who can be the biggest bitch

50 years ago and before that women were definitely at a disadvantage. With the right to vote, birth control, abortion rights, etc we can safely say that women are no longer held down or oppressed (at least in the Western World). There was once a time when women needed to be encouraged to go out and discover what is right for them as individuals. But lately is seems that women’s empowerment has become nothing but a dog whistle for the right to act like a cunt and get away with it. Is there really anything empowering about Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift singing about dumping their ex boyfriends? Especially Taylor Swift; who seems to have forgotten how to write any song that isn’t about acting like a bitch. Criticizing a woman is not sexist, telling her she’s overreacting is not mansplaining. Women need to chill the fuck out and stop forcing society to deal with their histrionics.
